Elizabeth Hunter

Nancy Elizabeth Shealy Hunter, 90, of Prosperity, widow of Joseph Raymond Hunter, died June 22, 2014, at her residence.

Born on January 1, 1924, in Prosperity, she was the daughter of David Malcom and Ella Bedenbaugh Shealy. She was retired from the SC Probation, Parole and Pardon Board. Mrs. Hunter was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA. She was a member of American Legion Post #24 Auxiliary and the UDC.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Ken) Jones of Columbia. Mrs. Hunter was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Hunter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. David Seymour. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, PO Box 188, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be James Long, Mac Vaughn, Tim Harmon, Emmett Wicker, Jimmy Dawkins and Craig Farr.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Grace Sease Sunday School Class.
