Elizabeth "Libby" Arnold

Ella Elizabeth “Libby” Johnston Arnold, 96, of Prosperity, widow of Jacob Homer Arnold, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at her home.

Born on April 21, 1928, in Gastonia, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Birdie Spiegner Johnston Mrs. Arnold had worked at Seibels Bruce and later retired from the S.C. Department of Mental Health. She was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church in Columbia. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Broad River Eastern Star Lodge # 218. Mrs. Arnold enjoyed reading and had a great love for her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Roberts of Prosperity; a son, David William Arnold of FL; grandchildren, Chris (Gina) Roberts, Tina (Brad) Griffin, David W. Arnold II and Lindsey Arnold; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Teddy) Roberts, Whitney (Chase) Caldwell, Dr. Erin (Blake) Warren, Haley Griffin, Ashleigh Jernigan and Gabriel Warn and great-great-grandchildren, Oakley Roberts, Hudson Warren, Macie Caldwell and Jace Jernigan.

She was predeceased by grandsons, James Roberts and Parker Arnold.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Monday, August 26, 2024, at Cresent Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen.
