Elizabeth “Liz” Morris, 45, of Whitmire, formerly of Greer, died Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 4, 1976, she was the daughter of Ann Enlow Upton and the late Tommy Morris. Born at just 24 weeks she has been a true miracle since birth. While she endured so many uphill battles she fought the good fight and finished the race. Liz always remained faithful.
Liz graduated in 1998 from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind at the age of 21. She learned many valuable skills in her “home economics workshop” and enjoyed participating in bowling on POHI day through the Special Olympics. She never met a stranger and loved everyone with all of her heart. Liz enjoyed “jamming” to the oldies and eating as many M&M's as her belly would hold.
Her Mama was truly her best friend.
She is survived by her mother, Ann Upton and step-father, Stretch Upton; sisters, Dixie (Galen) Roche and Kimberly (Clay) Smith and brother Jamie (Kendall) Morris; her grandmother, Patsy (Earl Wicker) Enlow; special aunt and uncle, Myrtie Mallach and James Enlow and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Jeffrey, her father, Tommy and grandparents, Sarah and Howard Morris and Richard Enlow.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Todd Johnson. Burial will follow at Zion United Methodist Church. The family will be at the home of Clay and Kimberly Smith.
The family would like to express gratitude to Prisma Health Hospice, Dr. Mark Davis, Dr. Chelsea McCoy and the staff of Newberry County Memorial Hospital for their loving compassionate care.
Active pallbearers will be Tyler Kesler, Ashley Glymph, Justin “J.D.” Dickert, James “J.B.” Brown, Colson Enlow and Blake Roche.
