Elizabeth Pugh Sauer

Elizabeth Lenora Pugh Sauer, 83, of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, widow of Frank Sauer, died Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa.

Born on July 28, 1933, in Prosperity she was a daughter of the late Andrew Pickens and Eva Minick Pugh. Mrs. Sauer obtained her PHD in Biochemistry from Duke University and had a working career in Canada in the field of medical research.

She is survived by a brother, Andrew John (Vassie) Pugh of Prosperity; a sister, Clara (Homer) Barnhardt of Saluda, VA and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Boyd Pugh.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Prosperity Cemetery by the Rev. Brett Blackman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cannon's Creek ARP Church, c/o Debra Shealy, 9393 SC Highway 34, Newberry, SC 29108.
