Elliott Dominick

Hugh Elliott Dominick, 61, of Newberry, died suddenly on Monday, August 23, 2010.

He was born on January 5, 1949 in Newberry, a son of Emily Gregory Dominick and the late Hugh A. Dominick. He was a 1967 Saluda High School graduate and a 1971 Cum Laude graduate of Newberry College. He was formerly employed by Champion International Corporation.

He is survived in addition to his mother of Newberry by his children, Dr. Gregory Mitchell (Christine) Dominick of Brown University, Providence, RI, and Jennifer Dominick (Terry) Gartner of Philadelphia, PA; a granddaughter, Kassidy May Gartner; a sister, Claire Fleming (John Awtrey); brothers, Gregory A. (Christine) Dominick and John Andrew Dominick; nephews, Marvin Timmerman “Tim” (Stephanie) Crow, John Eron (Becky) Crow, Frank Gideon Fleming and Bryan Carson Dominick; nieces, Jessie Marie (Earl) Hazel and Carley Winn Dominick.

There will be a private memorial service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1020 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais Street, Suite 300, Columbia, SC 29201.
