Ernestine Counts

Ernestine Shealy Counts, 95, of Newberry, widow of David Eugene Counts, died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Annie Meetze Hedgepath Shealy. She retired from MEPCO Electric and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Shealy Counts and his wife Dixie of Newberry; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Chrissie Koon and Vendeze Bishop; sisters, Elsie Williams, Reba Dennis, Janie Dodgen, and Bernice Bedenbaugh; and a brother, Leslie Hedgepath.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00PM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. David Clark. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1022, Newberry, South Carolina 29108.
