Ernie Golden

James Ernest “Ernie” Golden, 60, of Anderson, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Harry Steward “Buddy” and Barnette Adams Golden. He was a member of Marshall Memorial United Methodist Church and was a 1971 graduate of McDuffie High School. Ernie worked at Wellington Mill in Anderson, SC and Glass Master in Newberry, SC. He enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He also loved the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his mother, Barnette Golden, sisters, Marie (Wendell) Partain of Starr, SC and Kristie (Grady) Haltiwanger of Blythewood, SC; five nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and a sister, Nita Lynn Golden.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 2, 2012, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:30 – 3:45 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
