Essie E. Suit

Essie Gilliam Enlow Turner Suit, 90, of Newberry, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at her home.

Born on August 21, 1923, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late James Thompson and Clara Sanders Enlow. She was retired from Damon International and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Suit is survived by a son, Robert A. (Jimmie Nell) Turner, Jr. of Newberry; daughters, Nancy T. Shealy, Catherline (William David) Amick and Mary (Donnie) Beck all of Newberry; a sister-in-law, Patsy L. Enlow of Prosperity; special friend and caregiver, Georgia Brown; six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands, Robert A. Turner, Sr. and Rufus H. Suit, a daughter, Julia Turner, a sister, Bernice Boatwright and a brother, Richard Enlow.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, October 28, 2013 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in Rosemont cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the committal service. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to Glenn Street Baptist Church, 300 Glenn Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Donnie Berry, James Enlow, Mark Mallach, Josh Pitts, Zachary Pitts and David Heath Turner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ann and Paul Hawkins, Charles and Lila Leopard, Jim and Jolene Lander, Sandra Lominack, and Linda Turner.
