Estelle B. Bouknight

Estelle Bedenbaugh Bouknight, 88, of Newberry, widow of Marvin E. “Governor” Bouknight, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on January 1, 1925, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Carrie Morris Bedenbaugh. Mrs. Bouknight was retired from Kendall Company – Oakland Plant and attended Glenn Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth E. Bouknight of Newberry; a granddaughter, Dawn Crawley of Newberry; great-grandchildren, April Richardson, Josh Richardson and Crystal Crawley and a great-great-granddaughter, Mayley Richardson and a special family friend, Donnie Carnes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Whitesides. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Glenn Street Baptist Church, 300 Glenn Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to J.F.
