Eugene "Possum" Bedenbaugh

Ernest Eugene “Possum” Bedenbaugh, 78, of Prosperity, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on October 10, 1931, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Ernest J. and Marie Guin Bedenbaugh. He retired from Robert’s Citgo and was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Doliene Frick Bedenbaugh; a son, Lee (Elaine) Bedenbaugh of Pomaria; daughters, Debbie (Alva) Gaskin of Evans, GA and Vicki (Ronnie) Boozer of Chapin; grandchildren, Al (Penny) Gaskin, Kathy Gaskin, Kayla Boozer, Elise Bedenbaugh and Justin Bedenbaugh. Mr. Bedenbaugh was predeceased by a brother, Jacob Lee Bedenbaugh.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer and Rev. Art Hallman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
