Eva Mae Traylor Waldrop, 94, of Newberry, widow of Jefferson Carroll Waldrop, died Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 24, 1923, in Monticello, she was a daughter of the late Meadow and Maree Traylor. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Women's Circle and the Silver and Gold Group. Mrs. Waldrop was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by sons, Jefferson C. “Butch” Waldrop, Jr. and James Marion “Buddy” Waldrop both of Newberry; a daughter, Carol Ann (Cecil) McCracken of Newberry; grandchildren, Wanda Werts Wiggins, Jefferson Clyde Werts, Anne Marie Werts Cooper, Maureen Waldrop Elam, Jefferson Carroll Waldrop III, Justin David Waldrop, Faith Daniel Waldrop Murphy, Jaime Waldrop Van Zadelhoff, Whitney Waldrop Cromer and Darleen McRacken and eighteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Waldrop was predeceased by siblings, Alberta DeHart and Meadow Traylor, Jr., Henry Traylor, Jimmy Traylor and David Traylor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ken Carter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1167 Trinity Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Tim Traylor, Chris Traylor, Barry Traylor, Ricky Traylor, Wayne Traylor and Eddie Traylor.
