Evelyn Gray

Evelyn Berry Gray, 89, of Newberry, widow of Howard D. Gray, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at White Oak Manor.

Born on November 19, 1920, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Eunice Dolly Evans Berry. Mrs. Gray was retired from Joanna Mills and was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Richard) Spigner of West Columbia, Lynn (Fred) Fulmer and Kay (James) Boland both of Little Mountain and Beverly (Ricky) Shealy of Lexington; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Hembree, a grandson, Mike Spigner and a granddaughter, Kristi Boland.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010, at West End Baptist Church by the Rev. Kevin Carter. Entombment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 620 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
