Evelyn Morris

Sarah Evelyn Morris, 91, of Prosperity, widow of Bluma Calvin “Brown” Morris, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 1, 1917 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Pope Eugene and Bertha Rodelsperger Morris. She was a retired textile employee and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her sons, Calvin (Patsy) Morris and Terry Morris both of Prosperity; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morris was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Cannon.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ronald Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
