Everett Summer

Everett Cardel Summer, 66, of Chappells, widower of Joyce Wyatt Summer, died Monday, September 26, 2011, at his residence.

Born on December 4, 1944, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Jennings Cardel and Vaneria Long Summer. Mr. Summer was a former member of the S.C. National Guard, retired from Monsanto and a member of Chappells Baptist Church.

He is survived by daughters, Amelia Summer (Travis) Freeman and Angela Jewel Summer both of Chappells; a sister, Cereta (Henry) Tinsley of Kinards; a brother, Carroll (April) Summer of Chappells and a grandson, Ethan Freeman.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Chappells Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Brian Ward. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Chappells Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
