Fay Waites

Lula Fay Wicker Waites, 85, of Pomaria, widow of Earl Huston Waites, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at White Oak Manor.

Born on December 25, 1926,in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late John Bachman and Katie Pearl Graham Wicker. She was retired from Old School Manufacturing and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Waites is survived by sons, Billy Earl (Brenda) Waites of Pomaria, John Brady (Valerie) Waites of Irmo and Rickey H. (Susan) Waites of Silverstreet; a daughter, Ann (Olin) Lominick of Pomaria; sisters, Yvonne Sternenberg of Chapin, Bennetta Kiker of Conyers, GA, Mary Kinard of Newberry, Willene Stone of Whitmire and Earline Cumalander of Chapin; brothers, Ralph Wicker of Newberry and Claude E. Wicker of Pomaria; grandchildren, Scott Lominick, Connie Shirey, Stephanie Haltiwanger, Nick Waites, Nicole Waites, Justin Waites, Jonathan Waites, Rebecca Waites and Houston Waites and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Hugh Wicker, Harold Wicker, and her twin brother, Ray Wicker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at New Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Suzanne Walker and Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Boland House, 5398 SC Highway 34, Pomaria, on Monday from 5:00- 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund, 331 Holloway Street, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Jody Haltiwanger, Scott Lominick, Blake Shirey, Houston Waites, Jonathan Waites, Justin Waites and Nick Waites.
