Faye D. Taylor

Faye Derrick Taylor, 78, of Newberry, widow of Samuel Frazier Taylor died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Born on August 7, 1934, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Frederick Derrick, Sr. and Lillie Irene Huffstetler Derrick. She was retired from American Fiber and Finishing and was a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Samuel R. (Linda) Taylor of Prosperity; a daughter, Risa Taylor (Michael) Cromer of Newberry; sisters, Marlene Moore, Frances Wicker and Mildred Brooks all of Newberry, Floy Brooks from Greenwood; granddaughter, Tiffany (Joe) Wilson of Lexington and a great-grandson, Chris Wilson. She was predeceased by brothers, Fred Derrick, Grady Derrick and James Derrick and a sister, Dorothy Brooks.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 6, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will Sunday from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 303 W. Alexander Avenue, Suite 1, Greenwood, SC 29646.

Active pallbearer will be Kenneth Brooks, Gerry Jones, Shealy Counts, Richard W. Shealy, Jimmy Chestnut and Joe Wilson.
