Faye Wood

Carrie Faye Kinard Wood, 82, of Newberry, widow of William Edward Wood, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Hospice House of Laurens County.

Born on April 8, 1927, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late George Walter Kinard and Louise Dickert Hunter. Mrs. Wood was retired from American Fiber & Finishing and was a member of College Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Ann W. Cromer and Gail W. Senn both of Clinton and Mary Katherine (George) Marshall and Hermie Lyn Wood both of Joanna; a brother, Nelson Kinard of Woodruff; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Ida Mae Cook.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Kenneth Ferrell. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Marshall, 525 Browning Avenue, Joanna and will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
