Floyd Lester Summer, 88, of Peak, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Palmetto Health Baptist.
Born on March 21, 1927, in Peak, he was the son of the late Narvie Floyd and Maggie Eargle Summer. He was a World War II Army veteran, a lifetime member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church of Peak and a member of the Peak Recreation Commission. Mr. Summer was a retired superintendent with M.B. Kahn and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Wessinger Summer; a son, James Floyd (Kim) Summer of Peak; daughters, Olivia (Grady) Fulmer of Prosperity, and Elaine (David) Price of Peak; grandchildren, John Fulmer, Aaron Fulmer and Georgia Summer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church of Peak by the Rev. Beverly Aurand. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church building fund, cemetery fund or parish youth fund, PO Box 9, Peak, SC 29122.
Active pallbearers will be John Fulmer, Aaron Fulmer, Georgia Summer, Jason Wessinger, Tracy Lindler, and Stanley Lindler.
