Forest P. Brannon, Sr.

Forest Paul Brannon, Sr., 85, of Chappells, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born on November 10, 1926, in Rabun County, GA, he was the son of the late Robert Victor and Maude Dickerson Brannon. He was retired from Duke Power having worked at the Buzzard Roost Station. Mr. Brannon was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Christian Biblical Church of God and a former volunteer with the Chappells Fire Department.

Mr. Brannon is survived by his wife Magilee Belue Brannon; a son, F. Paul (Bette) Brannon, Jr. of Chappells; daughters, Cindy (Glen) Brannon Frick and Renee (Ronnie) Brannon Leitzsey both of Pomaria; sisters, Victoria Brannon Pickrell of Pittsboro, NC and Priscilla Brannon Shuler of Chappells; grandchildren, Tracen Paul Brannon and Justin Brannon Leitzsey; great-grandchildren, Trae Harmon Brannon and Kaden Paul Brannon. He was predeceased by his first wife, Peggy Harmon Brannon.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by Mr. Don Waterhouse. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 407 W. AlexanderAvenue, Greenwood, SC 29648.
