Frances Ellison Cooper, 85, of Prosperity, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at her residence.

Born on November 26, 1928, in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Rawls Walter and Ella Jane Bolling. She was a member of the Prosperity Church of God and was involved with the Waldrop Senior Center.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by sons, Steve Ellison of Gaffney and John (Sue) Ellison of Prosperity; daughters, Cindy (Charles) Mace and Cathy (Edgar) Lindler both of Prosperity and Linda Ellison of Cross Hill; a sister, Elsie Browning of Cologne, VA; a brother, Howard Bolling of Maryland; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands, James Ellison and J.V. Cooper, a grandson, Corey Lindler, five sisters and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, August 1, 2014, in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Chaffins. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials may be made to the Newberry County Council on Aging, 1300 Hunt Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or the Senior Center of Cherokee County, 499 W. Rutledge Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29341.

Active pallbearers will be Edgar Lindler, Jr., Tommy Boland, Troy Barnette, Billie Barnette, Johnny Ellison and Chris Mace.
