Frances "Frankie" Griffin

Frances Elizabeth “Frankie” Woodward Griffin, 95, of Pomaria, widow of John Phillip Griffin, died Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her residence.

Born on December 13, 1924 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Henry Colie Woodward, Sr. and Lillie Belle Fulmer Woodward. She was a graduate of Bush River High School. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she had served as a kindergarten teach and was involved with WELCA having served as president and statistical secretary. She had also, served on the Education Committee at church.

She is survived by daughters, Paula G. Williams and Nancy G. Costello both of Pomaria; a sister, Lillie Mae W. Harmon of Newberry; three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Memorials may be made to McSwain-Evans Funeral Home to apply toward funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank Agape Hospice of South Carolina for their loving care.
