Frank Mayer

William Franklin Mayer, 91, of Little Mountain, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 13, 1918, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late Floyd Terence and Lila Agnes Shealy Mayer. Mr. Mayer was a retired farmer and a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He was a life member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church where he served as church treasurer for 25 years.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, James C. Mayer of Atlanta, A. Dwain Mayer of Graniteville, Doug Mayer of Laurens, Janie Eargle of Newberry, Homer Edwards and Terry Edwards both of Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. John Stoudemayer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Haiti Relief c/o Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 816 Mt. Tabor Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
