Gayle Green

Gayle Metts Green, 47, of Little Mountain, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Born on October 17, 1968, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late William Glenn and Ann Hawkins Metts. Mrs. Green was a teacher at Mid Carolina High School where she was the BETA Club sponsor, JV softball coach and served on the Prom Committee. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Aiken.

She is survived by her husband, Mitchel W. Green; a son, Chase M. Green of Columbia; a daughter, Whitney Alixandra Green of Little Mountain; sisters, Carol (Larry) Metts Mazza and Lynn (Donny) Metts Stockman both of Prosperity; father and mother in-law, Ed and Sue Green; a brother-in-law, Scott (Joni) Green;

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Taylor. Burial will follow in Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the softball programs of Mid Carolina High School, 377 Cy Schumpert Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or Lees-McRae College, c/o Athletics Department, PO Box 128, Banner Elk, NC 28604.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Mazza, Jesse Mazza, Jeff Mazza, Donald Stockman, Jared Jones and Terry Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott A. Green, Jr., Ray Cooper, Kayla Green and the Mid Carolina High School Softball teams.
