George Pitts

George Edgar Pitts, 58, of Newberry, died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at his residence.

Born on December 17, 1950 in Newberry, he was a son of the late William Edgar and Grace Derrick Pitts. Mr. Pitts was an employee of ISE-Newberry and retired from the S.C. National Guard. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a member of the Round Table at Ronnie’s and past member of the Silvestreet Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Pam Stutts Pitts; a son, Kevin Pitts of Chapin; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Woody Ringer of Newberry. He was predeceased by a sister, JoAnn Pollard and a brother, J.W. Pitts.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hugh Bickley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1167 Trinity Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
