George Shannon

George Hawkins Shannon, 53, of Newberry, died March 11, 2015.

Born on April 3, 1961, in Newberry, he was a son of Elizabeth Hawkins Shannon and the late William Henry Shannon, Jr. He was a 1979 graduate of Newberry High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Charleston in 1984. He was a retired financial advisor and a member of Central United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his mother of Newberry, and by his brother, Henry Shannon of Newberry. He was predeceased by a special aunt, Josephine Shannon.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Saturday, at Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tresco Shannon and by the Rev. Jim Williams. A private interment will be held in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. The memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, P.O.
