George Stockman

George Wesley Stockman, 67, of Prosperity, died Sunday, November 6, 2016, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on April 21, 1949, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Herman Garrett and Ruby Counts Stockman. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Mr. Stockman is survived by his wife, Sarah Koon Stockman; daughters, Lacy (Stacy) Jones and Miranda (Foster) Gwyn both of Prosperity; step-daughters, Mary Hattie McAlister of Prosperity, Sharon Tucker and Brenda Edgins; a step-son, Joey Fuller of Pickens and twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association, 1122 Lady Street, Suite 1000, Columbia, SC 29201.

Active pallbearers will be Joey Fuller, Dean Rowe, Jimmy Thompson, Bubba Koon, Stacy Jones and James Taylor.
