George W. Rexrode

George W. Rexrode, 88, of Chapin, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Heritage at Lowman.

Born on February 15, 1925, in Stanley, VA, he was a son of the late Preston and Carrie Howsden Rexrode. He was a retired bus driver after 34 years with the Metro-Transit in Washington, DC and Maryland. Mr. Rexrode was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Club, the Young at Heart of which he was a former president, and the John Wesley Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Della Hinson Rexrode; a step-daughter, Lois Hughes of Blythewood; and a sister, Dorothy (Earl) Dovel of Stanley, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Zion United Methodist by the Rev. David Taylor. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Christian Antley, Jacob Miller, Jesse Miller, Glen Miller, Austin Ellison, and Steve Hinson.
