Gerald Griffith

Gerald Griffith, 75, of Newberry, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on September 23, 1934 to the late J. Wilbur and Hattie McCarty Griffith. Mr. Griffith was retired from Columbia Supply Company and also Standard Distributors. He was a member of Bush River Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Satterwhite Griffith; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Satterwhite and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Sarah Bedenbaugh and Helen Keitt, a brother, Ralph “Sonny” Griffith and a step-mother, Elizabeth Griffith.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at  Bush River Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian L. Preston. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bush River Baptist Church, 8935 Bush River Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bush River Baptist Church.
