Gifford Raymond Racine

Gifford Raymond Racine, 76, of Prosperity, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at his residence.

Born on December 21, 1934, in Media, PA, he was a son of the late Gifford Howard and Ella Watson Racine. Mr. Racine was an Army veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC and attended Bethel Baptist Church. He was a former partner of Sefab and retired from Curtis Fabrication.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Martz Racine; sons, James H. (Cynthia Brown) Racine and Raymond Joseph Racine both of Prosperity; a daughter, Darlene (Ron) Rabine of Monroe, GA; a sister, Eloise Webster of Prosperity; grandchildren, Michael (Tanya) Racine, Ryan (Kira) Racine, Nick Racine, Adam (Brandy) Lingefelt and Joey Racine; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Bonnie and Nolan Racine, Amber and Jaden Lingefelt. Mr. Racine was predeceased by a brother, James Clemson Racine.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Kierstead. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Suite 301, Cayce, SC 29033 or to Bethel Baptist Church, 2503 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
