Glenn Carroll Long, 62, of Little Mountain, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on October 15, 1949, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Jacob Carroll and Ola Mae Metze Long. He was a longtime employee of SCE&G V.C. Summer Nuclear Station and a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He greatly loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. He especially loved farming and fishing.

Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Janice Ringer Long; daughters, Gwen (Chris) Davenport and Jana (Michael) Livingston all of Little Mountain; sisters, Carolyn L. Torrence and Linda L. Frick both of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Tori and Colby Livingston and Brady Davenport. He was predeceased by sisters, Annie Rose Stockman, Myrtis Dominick and Retha Richardson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, April 30, 2012, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. John Stoudemayer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 816 Mt. Tabor Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075 or to the American Cancer Society c/o Helen Beebe, 181 Tailors Trail, Leesville, SC 29070.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Bickley, Keith Dominick, Gregg Frick, Brian Sheeley, Alan Stockman, Bobby Stockman, Kenny Stockman and James Torrence.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Mechanical Maintenance Group at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station.
