Lyon Glenn Fellers, 77, of Prosperity, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at his residence.
Born on August 2, 1940, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Lyon Calhoun and Myra Rebecca Bowers Fellers. He worked for Georgia Pacific for many years and later ran Glenn's Convenience Store. Mr. Fellers was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Club, the choir, a Sunday School teacher and served on numerous church committees. He was extremely involved with church athletics and was very instrumental with starting church softball and basketball leagues with area churches. Mr. Fellers was a member of the Prosperity Lions Club and a charter member of the Mid Carolina Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Hunter Fellers; sons, Clay Lynwood (Gina) Fellers and Ty Hunter (Connie) Fellers of Little Mountain; a brother, Terry Lynwood (Susan) Fellers of Prosperity; grandchildren, Cameron Clay Fellers, Jeffrey Hawkins Fellers, Carlin Shaw Fellers, Emma Rebecca Fellers and Hunter Leslie Fellers; a sister-in-law, Linda Pope Hunter of Smyrna, GA; nephews, Jeff (Jenny) Fellers and Steve (Kerri) Hunter and a niece, Glynnis (Tad) Abraham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. R. T. Bowling. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church Improvement Fund, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Cameron Fellers, Jeffrey Fellers, Carlin Fellers, Hunter Fellers, Jeff Fellers and Tad Abraham.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Class, Men's Club and Men's Choir.
