Glenn Ladison Hamm, 87, of Prosperity, widower of Jeanette Koon Hamm, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at White Oak Manor.

Born on January 8, 1931, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Jeff A. and Mary Lou Moore Hamm. He was the owner of Hamm Hardware and Building Supplies where he worked for 75 years. He served seventeen years in the SC. National Guard. Mr. Hamm was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Newberry YMCA and the SC Law Enforcement Association. He served as a SC Highway Commissioner and a Newberry County Road Commissioner. Mr. Hamm served on the Board of the Newberry Water and Sewer Authority and the advisory board of the First Union National Bank of SC. Mr. Hamm served on the Prosperity Town Council and was a former Town Mayor. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Hejaz Temple of North America Shrine Club. Mr. Hamm was also a member of the Thirty Second Degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

He is survived by a son, Ladison Lee (Paula) Hamm; grandchildren, Glenn Ladison (Kim) Hamm II and Rev. Adrienne (Matthew) Fink; great-grandchildren, Everett Lee Hamm, William Jefferson Hamm and Lydia Katelyn Fink. Mr. Hamm was predeceased by his siblings, Jeff A. Hamm, Jr., Carroll Hamm, Homer Hamm, James W. Hamm, Blondell Koon, Louise Roberson, Adelaide Jones, Betty Livingston and Leray Lake.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Brian Rainwater and Rev. Randy Derrick. The family will greet visitors following the service at Wightman United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Wightman United Methodist Church Family Life Center, PO Box 376, Prosperity, SC 29127.

A public viewing will be from 10:30 am - 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
