Grace Eva Clemmer, of Newberry, passed away on her 95 th birthday, April 2, 2009, at White Oak Manor.

Born on April 2, 1914 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late John Lee and Carrie Mae Padgett Sanford. Mrs. Clemmer was retired from Kendall Company, Mollohon Plant and was a member of Epting United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Larry E. Harmon of Charleston; step-sons, George Clemmer of Seal Beach, CA and Edward Clemmer of Greer; a step-daughter, Louise C. Bolick of Union; sisters, Narvis S. Willingham of Newberry and Ruth S. Hansen of Allenhurst, NJ; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Clemmer was predeceased by two husbands, Jacob Burr Harmon and Millard E. Clemmer. She was also predeceased by a son, Richard Harmon, brothers, Leroy Sanford, Victor Sanford, Klugh Sanford, Boyd Sanford, Raymond Sanford and Jerry Sanford and sisters, Sula S. Miller, Vera S. Harris and Nita Sanford.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel by the Rev. David Inman. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to White Oak Manor, 2555 Kinard Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
