Guy Williamson

Guy Leon Williamson, 78, of Newberry, passed on April 25, 2012, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Born on April 12, 1934 in Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Elliott Williamson and Daisy Hoover Williamson.

Mr. Williamson was a graduate of Dreher High School where he was a Junior on the 1951 state championship football team. He served in the US Air Force as a radar technician. He was retired from the South Carolina State Forestry where he was a two-way radio technician.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Holsonback (husband, Warren), two grandchildren, Kellie L. Whitsitt (husband, Brian) and Justin W. Holsonback.; a great-grandson, Walker Whitsitt; a sister, Era Mae Williamson Sharpe and a brother, Elliott Williamson, Jr.

Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry Williamson and a granddaughter, Brooke Holsonback.

Mr. Williamson had ten brothers and sisters of which eight predeceased him. They were Ed Williamson, Ernest Williamson, Arthur Williamson, Rosa Lee Williamson Cook, Legree Williamson, Earle Williamson, Evelyn Williamson Davis and Lois Williamson Neely

Memorials can be made to the South Carolina Crime Victims Council for the Crime Victims' Memorial Garden.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
