George Hagood Cromer, 93, of Pomaria, widower of Dorothy Hendrix Cromer, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Providence Hospital.

Born on October 30, 1919, in Pomaria, he was a son of the late Robert Walter and Ida Ethel Wicker Cromer. He was a World War II Army veteran and an active and faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was retired from Uniroyal and was a farmer.

He is survived by his daughters, Kay (Gordon) Slice and Debbie (Danny Wayne) Graham both of Pomaria; a sister, Ethel Rawls of Pomaria, grandchildren, Dan (Brandi) Graham, Dana (Jason) Long, Dawn Graham, Diana Graham, Donna Kay Koon and Travis (Jennifer) Slice; great-grandchildren, Cole, Luke and Ryan Graham, Grayson and Ava Grace Long, Alex and Peyton Koon and Taylor Slice; sisters-in-law, Sarah Mae Cromer of Newberry and Doris Haskins. Mr. Cromer was predeceased by brothers, Walter Cromer, Otto Cromer and Tom Cromer.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mat Brewington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Slice and the home of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Wayne Graham with visitation on Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 2360 Mt. Pleasant Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Dan Graham, Travis Slice, Jason Long, William Cromer, Brad Youngblood and James Long.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Cromer, Lawrence Lever, Roland Kibler, Todd Lever, Lonnie Stoudemire, Virgil Livingston, Terry Morris, Steve Wicker, Steven Cromer, Billy Waites and Anthony Dennis.
