Harold Epting

James Harold Epting, 85, of Prosperity, widower of Harriette Eargle Epting, died January 25, 2014.

Born on August 8, 1928, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Brooks Dewey and Marie Bedenbaugh Epting. He retired from Epting Automotive and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Mr. Epting was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by daughters, Hope E. Wiggers and husband Ernie of Beaufort and Hanna E. Renwick of Columbia; a son Holmes Brad Epting of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Sloan E. Wiggers and Bryan B. Wiggers both of Beaufort, Alexandra L. Renwick of Savannah, GA, and Michael V. Renwick of Prosperity. Mr. Epting was predeceased by his brothers, Robert F. Epting, Ralph L. Epting, and Randall B. Epting.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 188, Prosperity, SC 29127.
