Harold H. Hooper

Harold Hal Hooper, 87, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, February 17, 2011, at Laurens County Hospital.

He was born on May 20, 1923, in Evansville, IN, to the late Hallie Henry and Alice Kemper Hooper. Mr. Hooper was a retired Army Air Corp Major having served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre as a B24 Pilot. He retired in 1975 from William F. Freiji and was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing bar room music. Mr. Hooper was a much loved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Mayer Hooper; sons, Larry (Connie) Hooper of Cape Coral, FL, Mike (Cathy) Hooper of Bryson City, NC and Lee (Karen) Hooper of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. John Stoudemayer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend following the service.
