Harriett Halfacre Haltiwanger, 63, of Newberry died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her residence.

Born on February 20, 1952, in Newberry, she was the daughter of Thomas Maffett and Myrtis Frick Halfacre. She was a graduate of Newberry High School and received an Associates degree from Winthrop University. She was an Administrative Assistant with Palmetto Health Hospice in Newberry and was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she served in numerous capacities for a number of years. Harriett loved her family and friends and watching red birds.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry M. Haltiwanger; her daughter and son-in-law, Charline Anne and Andy Holland of Chapin; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Thomas and Becca Haltiwanger of Fort Mill; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Randall “Randy” and Angela Halfacre of Lexington; two grandchildren, Skylar Thomas and Reece David Haltiwanger; and best friends, Kay and Jimmy McEntire and family.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2015 at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer by the Rev. Matthew Titus, Rev. Rodney Gunter and Palmetto Health Hospice Chaplain – Pastor Charles Pollock. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Family Life Center. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Abiding Memorial Fund, 1515 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or to Palmetto Health Hospice, Newberry, P.O. Box 352, Newberry, SC 29108.

Her family would like to recognize Charlotte Berry and the staff of Palmetto Health Hospice, Newberry, The 85's, Ken and Shirley Roehrs, Sonny and Marsha Ringer, Kathy Riggin, Roz Wilson, and Lloyd Layman.
