Harry H. Thomas, 90, of Newberry, widower of Constance Hamilton “Connie” Thomas died October 7, 2010 at White Oak Manor.
Born on July 4, 1920, in Cylinder, Iowa, he was a son of the late Ray and Donnie Ackridge Thomas. He was a retired carpenter and builder. He was a WWII Army veteran and served in the European Theater. He fought in battles at Ardennes, Rhineland, and in Central Europe.
He is survived by a son, Larry R. Thomas of Newberry; two granddaughters, Lauri Monts of Grass Valley, CA, and Suzanne Thomas of Charleston; and a great-grandson, Hunter Monts. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Vernon Koon. Memorials may be made to Newberry Christian Academy, 2004 Colony Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
