Harvey Driggers, 99, of Newberry, died Friday, August 4, 2017, at his residence.
Born on July 18, 1918, he was a son of the late Eddie and Marie Platt Driggers. He was an Army veteran and retired as an electrician from the VA Medical Center in Charleston. He was a member of the Newberry Christian Church.
Mr. Driggers is survived by a son, Richard (Dianne) Driggers of Rutherfordton, NC; a daughter, Linda Sellars (Bill) Cox of Columbia; step-son, Bill (Kelly) Honeycutt of Waldorf, MD; step-daughter, Barbara (Ken) Hinson of Pawley's Island; sister, Vera Dale Wiggers of Newberry; grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Drake and Sha (Chris) Blackwell; five great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great-grandchildren. He was twice married, first to the late Pauline Shealy Driggers and secondly, to the late Kathleen Turner Honeycutt Driggers. He was also predeceased by a step-son, Johnny Honeycutt and siblings, Corine Rinehart, Elizabeth Padgett and Carl Driggers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after the service. Memorials may be made to the Newberry Council on Aging, 1300 Hunt Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
