Hattie Boozer

Hattie Evelyn Shealy Boozer, 101, of Prosperity, widow of Bernard Nicholson Boozer, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 26, 1917 in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Melissa Frick Shealy. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where she was involved with the Essie Hawkins Circle.

Mrs. Boozer is survived by daughters, Gloria B. (Kenneth) Bowers and Gail B.(Tobie) Shealy both of Prosperity; a daughter-in-law, Edna Boozer; grandchildren, Dean Bowers, Barry (Saiying) Bowers, Trevis (Lisa) Shealy, Clint (Jerri Lynn) Shealy, Nicky Boozer and Matt Boozer and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Boozer was predeceased by a son, Bernard Lowell Boozer and her siblings, Mattie Boozer, her twin sister and Leona Shealy, Ruby Wise, Thurston Shealy and Samuel Shealy.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, November 23, 2018 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 – 2:30 pm Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
