Hayne Folk

M. Hayne Folk, 70, of Newberry, died Thursday, August 17, 2017, at his residence.

Born on June 4, 1947, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Hamilton Hayne and Martha Louise Nobles Folk. He was a 1971 graduate of Gardner-Webb College and was a former employee of Shealy Tractor and Implement Company and retired from Caterpillar. He was a member of Beth-Eden Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Church Council. Mr. Folk was a member of the Newberry Community Choir for over 20 years.

He is survived by a son, Chase Hamilton (Kelly) Folk of Prosperity; a daughter, Florence Gabrielle Folk of Newberry; brothers, including his twin, Joseph Wayne (Anne) Folk and John David Folk both of Newberry; his former wife, Nedra Shealy Folk; grandchildren, William Hamilton Folk and Cathryn Louise Folk.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Beth-Eden Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rodney Gunter. Memorials may be made to Beth-Eden Lutheran Church, c/o Wayne Folk, 1211 Reid Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or the Newberry Community Choir, c/o Jane Mason, 1250 Rose Lane, Newberry, SC 29108. The family is at the home of Chase and Kelly Folk, 1229 Old Jollystreet Road, Prosperity, 29127.
