Helen Singley Crowder, 76, of Newberry, widow of Talmadge Clayton Crowder, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at Palmetto Health Richland.
Born on February 15, 1937, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Willie Lee and Sara Lois Taylor Singley. She was retired from E.L. Mansure and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Crowder is survived by a son, David Lynn (Hope) Crowder of Newberry; a daughter, Lisa (Tommy) Long of Pomaria; sisters, Kay Little and Carolyn Choice both of Columbia; a brother, Lee Singley of Lexington; grandchildren, Amber Long, Eric Long; step-grandchildren, Justin Roberts and Kaitlyn Wallace; a step-great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Roberts. She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Edwards and a brother, Frank Singley
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Rodney Gunter. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 228 Jalapa Road, Newberry, SC 29108 or to Bush River Fire Department, c/o Richard Long, 1139 Reeder Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Edwards, Tommy Edwards, Blair Long, Russell Neel, Barry Shealy and Tim Shealy.
