Henry Boyd Hendrix, 70, of Newberry, died November 8, 2020 at his residence.
Born on June 20, 1950 in Newberry, he was a son of the late Joseph Fredrick and Jessie Mae Derrick Hendrix. Henry was known by many as “The Cookie Man”. He retired from Lance Cracker Company after 35 years of service. He later went to work with Nabisco. He enjoyed riding horses, cooking out , and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Alicia (William) Attaway of Pomaria; a son, Chad (Eiko) Hendrix of Pomaria; a granddaughter, Megan Johnson; a sister, Dollie Creekmore of Newberry; a sister-in-law, Linda Hendrix; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, W.P. Hendrix and a sister, Mary Hendrix Longshore.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Steve Jackson. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, #301, Cayce, SC 29033 or to a charity of ones choice. We ask that those attending to please wear a mask and follow the CDC guidelines for Covid -19.
The family will be at the home of Alicia and William Attaway, 1245 Graham Rd, Pomaria.
