Heyward Larry Fulmer, 91, of Newberry, widower of Helen Doris Vaughn Fulmer, died October 7, 2010

Born on August 13, 1919, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Murray Oscar and Mary Jane Fulmer Fulmer. He was a WWII Army veteran and served as a Military Police Officer in the European Theater in France. He was a retired manager for Calhoun Life Insurance Company and was a farmer. Mr. Fulmer was a life-long member of Colony Lutheran Church where he served on the church building committee and was a former church councilman.

He is survived by sons, Larry Vaughn Fulmer, Sr. and his wife Neal and Cecil George Fulmer both of Newberry; a daughter, Anne F. Kirkland and husband Benji of Newberry; a sister, Rudine Long Hodge and husband Jerry of Newberry; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by 6 brothers, 2 sisters, and a great-grandson, Alec Branch.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Colony Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 48 Colony Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pall bearers will be; Walter Garnett, Zachary Branch, Luke Dowd, Landon Dowd, Lowell Dowd, and C.J. Shealy.

Honorary pall bearers will be members of Colony Lutheran Church and members of McDonald's Coffee Club
