Heyward Edgar “Boll Weevil” Fulmer, 76, of Prosperity, widower of Carol Shealy Fulmer, died June 3, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on June 13, 1938, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Eddie Leroy and Lillie Mae Barrett Fulmer. He retired from Allied Signal after 36 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Lutheran Men, a former Sunday School Superintendent/ Treasurer, he also served on church council and the Property and Long Range Planning Committee. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a charter member of Fairview Fire Department. He retired after 50 years of service as Captain and was the department photographer.

Mr. Fulmer is survived by a son; Brian K. (Kathy) Fulmer of Prosperity; a daughter, Melanie F. Robinson of Irmo; brothers, James L. Fulmer, J. Wayne (Kathy) Fulmer, and Eddie C. (Debby) Fulmer all of Prosperity; a sister, Dianne F. (Wayne) Vining of West Columbia; his mother-in law, Sarah A. Shealy; a sister-in-law, Vonnie Fulmer; grandchildren, Erica L. Robinson, W. Bradley Fulmer, and Derek A. Fulmer. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry R. Fulmer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Derrick. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kathy Fulmer, 2981 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity.

Active pallbearers will be Allen Fulmer, Kenny Lipsey, Keith Rankin, Tim Hall, Danny Fulmer, Michael Meade, and Brantley Alewine.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Shealy, Billy Fulmer, Steven Turner, Diane Epps, and members of the Fairview Fire Department.
