Irene Scurry

Irene Agnes Scurry, 84, of Newberry, widow of Jerry D. Scurry, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at White Oak Manor.

Born on April 24, 1930, in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Bernice Mitchell Behrens. She was retired from Milliken and was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church of Saluda.

Mrs. Scurry is survived by a daughter, Susan S. (Brett) Wicker of Newberry; a sister, Camellia McCredie of Florida and special family members, Carol Allen of Mississippi and Linda Hess of Illinois and other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Vivian Sherwood, Juanita Demnicki and Louise Stone and brothers, Robert Larsen and Leo Larsen.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Amick.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Gardner, Merchant Padgett, Bob Snelgrove, Corey Crist, Rocky Wicker and Robbie Scurry.
