Jacob Alvin Kibler, 92, of Lexington, SC departed this life on Sunday, July 14, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 30, 1920 in Prosperity, he was the son of the late John AC and Minnie Ellen Bowers Kibler. He was a World War II Army veteran having received numerous awards including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Laurens, SC.
Mr. Kibler is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nannie Lou Cook Kibler; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra K. and Pat Brown of Laurens; granddaughter, Allison B. (Cliff) Eaddy of Bishop, GA; grandson, Patrick A. (Mandy) Brown of Abbeville, SC and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by their son, Alvin Sidney Kibler.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 11:00 am at Newberry Memorial Gardens, Newberry, SC by the Rev. Rick Inman. Memorials may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church, 413 Farley Avenue, Laurens, SC 29360 or to the St. Pauls Lutheran Church Restoration Fund, c/o First Community Bank, PO Box 417, Newberry, SC 29108.
