James Alfred Lindler, Sr., 61, of Little Mountain, died Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Born on October 5, 1955, in Newberry County, he was the eldest son of the late James Stanley and Doris Hill Lindler. He was a truck driver for Southeastern Freight Lines and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Lindler loved to cook, fish and hunt, but his greatest love was for his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings. He enjoyed watching his Clemson Tigers.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen D. Lindler; sons, Chris J. (Crystal) Crouch of Little Mountain and James A. (Amanda) Lindler, Jr. of Prosperity; a daughter, Crystal L. (Darius) Bates of Prosperity; a sister, Betty L. Pitts of Little Mountain; a brother, Stanley Von (Renee) Lindler of Peak; grandchildren, Addison Maree Crouch, Arynton Taylor Crouch, Nyla Kiera Cannon, Laila Grace Bates, Gabriel Isaiah Bates, Kayden Elijah Bates, Madisyn Paisleigh Bates, Landen Asher Lindler and Aspen Blaine Lindler; niece, Andrea Lindler. He is also survived by his special canine companions, Winnie and Dixie.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brett Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Trinity Life Center. Memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Preschool, PO Box 186, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
