James B. Reid

James Bagley Reid, 79, of Lancaster, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at CMC-Charlotte.

Born on March 11, 1936 in Chester County, he was a son of the late James Walker and Edna Bagley Reid. He was a retired supervisor with Springs Industries and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor. He was a golfing and fishing enthusiast.

Mr. Reid is survived by his wife, Carol Simpson Reid; a son, Heath “Pete” Simpson; daughters, Julie Reid Alvarez and her husband, Jose and Diane Reid; grandsons, Sebastian Reid “Little Man” Alvarez and Robert Gibson, two great-grandchildren, a brother, Ronald “Punk” Reid and his wife, Shirley; sisters, Joyce Sowell and Nancy Hayes and her husband, Claude and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Sigmon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 21, 2015, at Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor by the Rev. Ray Robinson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at McLean Funeral Directors in Lancaster. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210.

Active pallbearers will be Warren Mitchell, Wayne Mitchell, Tom Ulrich, Jarvis Driggers, Chip Sanders and Bobby Gibson.
